Duck Detective: The Secret Salami review by Amjara
Duck Detective: the Secret Salami is a short, wholesome game where you play as duck detective Eugene McQuacklin on the case of the Secret Salami!
The Story
You're
Eugene McQuacklin, the deep voiced duck detective on the case of what
seems like an easy to solve lunch theft but is only the beginning of an
even deeper mystery! Through your means of super de-duck-tion skills
learn who the culprits are and the deeper mysteries at play.
Gameplay & Features
The
game features include story mode, dialogue options, screen-shake &
vibration (on or off), dyslexic font (interesting feature), key
rebinding, audio controls and display options.
Through the use
of "Deducktions" you gather clues by questioning persons and inspecting
the surroundings. Then you enter clue words into blank spaces to solve
the de-duck-tions.
The game is point-and-click and can be played
with just a mouse (keyboard is also supported). It does support
controllers but I used a mouse for my playthrough.
The Visuals & Audio
Visually
the game is cute, with a cartoon style. The character art reminds me of
how you look and move around in Paper Mario. A 2D character in a 3D
environment.
The soundtrack is nice and fits the atmosphere of a sleuthing detective theme.
Overall Experience
This
game is wholesome, adorable and fun. The humor in some parts is on
point. I really liked that "Never gonna give you up.wav" you end up
finding on someone's certain computer. Even in this game you can get
Rick-rolled :) Achievements are also easy to get in a single playthrough
of the game.
A great but short game that everyone can enjoy. 🔍
